Gym Membership Cancellation Notice

We are struggling at the moment and I want to cancel the gym to reduce outgoings. But they have a three month cancellation policy. My hubby says just cancel the d/d but I am a bit scared, what can they do if we do that?

  • Chase you for what you owe, get a CCJ against you and send the bailiffs round.

I cancelled mine a while back without realising 3 months cancellation was required, with Fitness First i think. Two months later some DCA called C.A.R.S were sending me text messages and letters for £57, i was a bit stumped at first till they told me what it was for, which i then paid!

Wouldnt mind i only cancelled it due to not using it enough and always being packed solid when i did want to.
  • Oh well, three months it is then. In the meantime will change our unlimited access to off peak which should save a bit of money. We are off anyway so can use it anytime.

    Thanks for the replies,
