B & Q application process

Just wanted to advise people on the B&Q online application process, as I have just been turned down due to my profile. This is another one of those companies like Tesco that is now asking you to complete a person profile questionnaire together with the application.
In the case of B&Q the profile is done on line before you actually submit your application so you can check your scores, they are marked as Agreeableness,Conscientious, Conformity,Extroversion and Emotional Stability. My score in order(marks out of 10) were 5,5,7,3 and 5 and I failed on Extroversion. So I would advise anyone who completes this test and scores less then 5 out of 10 on any catagory to redo the test again before entering the application process if you want to work there. What is annoying for me is that this company would have literally bitten peoples hands off to come and work for them in my local town about 5 years ago but are now obviously taking advantage of the current economic climate.

It is my opinion that B&Q isn't worth working for when they use a process like this that just gives a result of 'computer says no'. There is no human aspect to the decision whatsoever - years ago I applied this way and it appears it hasn't changed.

Don't get me started on actually going into a B&Q store. All I can say is that there is plenty of evidence that their recruiting practices are useless.
  • I did this test just for fun and got 7,9,5,9,8. Better rush out and apply to B&Q then :rotfl:

Blooming ridiculous test - is anyone going to rate themselves as unpunctual and disorganised?

I find it amazing that companies expect people to jump through such hoops. They want a job not analysis !
