Quicken Coding For VAT Cut Advice Please

Hi
I'm using Quicken at work to track the office accounts and will have to alter the rate to 15% from 1 December 2008, but can't see that I can simply alter the rate of the S (standard) code without altering all previous transactions..
I've opened a new one I'm calling S15 and applying it to new transactions but would it be safe to change the categories to this so that when I enter new transactions they'll carry the S15 rate instead of the S rate or will that make changes retrospectively too? This is proving a nightmare already!! All my statements and reporting templates are going to have to be changed too.
If anyone has any tips for making the changes in Quicken without fouling up previous records could they please pass them on?
Cheers!
