MFI Delivery

Apologies if this is in wrong forum

I have just received a call from MFI today to say that a delivery due on Saturday has been cancelled and that they cannot say when they will deliver due " to a system failure at the Distribution centre "

In the press today there are reports about the financial health of the MFI chain even though it has just been refinance

I hope the two are not linked . Anyone have anythiing to contribute or similar story

If you are buying at MFI ( or any retailer in current climes )make sure you protect yourself just in case anything happens by paying with credit card

I have been waiting for a pack of bed slats from MFI to complete our order. It's been promised 3 times and failed to deliver each time. Tried phoning today but to no avail.
  • well that is a familiar story , I had neck ache from being on hold to their call centre so frequently - I went back into the shop and after asking to speak to the manager spoke rather loudly and all credit to the manager he gave us a £50 credit against a future purchase and when they cancelled delivery a third time I again complained in the store and received 20% discount on the bookcase we wanted

so all in all the delay was quite profitable........provided they remain in business and deliver that is

Get in there and ask for the manager

MFI look like they are about to go bankrupt im afraid chaps; so if its possible, you may well want to consider cancelling your orders with them. They have gone into administration today I think.

Shame they are on their way out, as we had our kitchen done (bought, measured to fit, and fitted) by them and they did a stunning job, and only cost £1800 iirc, at the time every other quote we were getting for similar kit was in the region of £4000 fitted.

BTW, from what I red earlier on, they are saying all orders will be either fulfilled or refunded, so lets hope so, looking back at it, I feel my above post may have paniced people a touch and apologise for that.

At this point it looks positive for anyone who has purchased something from them.
  • Not sure how true this is so don't quote me on it. Heard that the stores have slashed prices to 70% off. It's a bit hard to find out without one near though as you're unable to access the website anymore.

For anyone with outstanding orders there are details where the website would be.
