small business vs large business

I couldn't find a board that fitted my post but can anyone please help? :-/ I own a small company and we have had a dispute with a rather large advertising company over some adverts that were mis-sold. They have ignored our complaints, refused to discuss the matter with us in a professional manner and brushed us under the carpet because they are so big that they can. We refused to pay the full amount for that part of the service (other adverts have been paid for upfront in full) and now they have passed the matter to a debt collection agency.
Since then, they have rectified what was wrong which to me is almost an admission - we initially spoke to other companies who also weren't happy and it seems they might now have taken notice. I have spoken to trading standards but they weren't able to offer much advice as they deal with consumer laws rather than business contracts.
I know you can get free legal consultations for most things but I can't find any firm that will offer the same to us as a business. Does anyone know where we might be able to get initial advice that won't cost a small fortune? Is there some kind of governing body that such companies have to answer to? ???
Thanks in anticipation. :'(

Try re-posting in Small Biz & Charity Organisers Money Saving, or ask Mod to move it there for you?
(In other words I'm afraid I don't know the answer but there are various small biz people up there who may have encountered a similar problem.)Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
