Hi all,
Hope this is the right board, can anyone who's gone for an xmas temp position at Tesco let me know if you got paid for the induction? As it's 5 hours long apparently and wouldn't surprise me if you don't get anything...
Thanks

Hey
I get roped into working at Tesco every Christmas (my best friend's mum is the manager of our local store!).
The induction normally last 2-3hours and you do get paid for it.
You watch videos on Health and Safety, and Think 21 (selling alcohol policy). Then you fill out some Q&A's on the videos. Then you have a tour of the store and get sent off to your relevent department to meet the people working there. If you are on checkouts (like me!) then you get put on the till for 30-60mins to learn the ropes, you have a normal checkout person with you to help!
Hope that helps, and good luck

Sounds similar to Asda, except that was a 3 day induction! Which we got paid for
, although that was for permanent work.

Thanks everyone, that's good to know, I'm pretty helpful by nature but didn't fancy a day's free work :-).0

I was paid for mine in 2006 and as far as I know you still are, yes!
Mine lasted all day and was as [STRIKE]mind numbingly boring[/STRIKE] useful and interesting as corporate inductions tend to be.
Although, it is handy to know some of it in fairness!0
