Does anyone have any experience with scottish debt help companies or can anyone recommend any good companies or websites that helped them.
I am looking for information on what can and cannot be done by myself and the creditors.(I would like to retain as much control as possible).
Can I transfer the car to my wife etc (She uses it I dont).
My Debts are mainly credit cards and loans but are quite high at £100k+, I have earned a six figure salary for the last 3 years but in setting up a new business more than a year ago have not earned any income for 6 months and have run out of funds to keep things going. My house in on the market but wont realistically be sold until the spring at the earliest and should net me about 70K(If Wife Agrees).
Thanks

Hi DFH4NP,
On the nationaldebtline website there is a section for Scotland @
http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/scotland/
this may help you with questions regarding the Scottish laws as they can be different from the English laws.
Hope this helps!

There's a good forum with input from Scottish advisors here:

Hi DFH4NP
We live in Scotland and are seriously in debt to the tone of £85000+. We contacted Payplan who were very helpful....only thing is, when one of their advisors phoned back today about an IVA he had to break the news that IVAs only apply to England and Wales. He is getting a Scottish Advisor to contact us about ways to help.
BUT..best by far have been National Debtline(see link on workingatit's post). Took ages to get through but they have sent lots of info about Scottish debt. They also have a section called Business Debt Line which deals specifically with business debt(think just in Scotland). And CCCS were great and an advisor is phoning back 16 Jan to talk about our options.
All the CC companies have been OK. The RBS Business Advisor has given us a payment break til he hears whats happening.
My husband is very upset but I feel better for actually doing something positive. Better than a heart attack through stress...if I keep telling myself that I might stop worrying.0
