reservered for collection from another argos to mine, price up now

If i have ordered an item that was not available in my local argos but only in an extra store and ordered it for collection to my store, which takes a few days and your given a date when it arrives and a date of when upto you can collect, say the item has went up in price as was reduced,do i pay what i reserved it for or the higher price, its not my fault its taken time for my store to receive it to there store and i should not have to pay the higher price,do i have too?
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.

  • It does state on the webiste and sometimes on your reservation reciept that the price you pay is the price in store on the day you collect. If you're lucky and they are feeling generous they may reduce the price for you.
  • This happened to me today. Reserved something on offer last night and wasn't aware the offer ended yesterday, had I known I would of ordered it for home delivery. Just wish their website alerted customers if an offer is due to expire.

Has anyone had any joy with regards to generous staff honouring the reserved price?

I did once with a toy I ordered about 6 months ago. They honoured the price without me even asking.

they do state it. i ordered wall e dvd and it clearly stated it was due off offer on the 25th november 2008. i have noticed this for about the last month on all their offer items. its near the bottom of the page.

A lot of argos prices went up today. For eg i bought an oral b toothbrush for £11.99 down from £29.99 and today its £14.99. Also went to buy another item today that was £10 off last night and today its gone up. Was so mad I did not reserve it but it seems it would not make a difference. I'm sure it did not state an offer end date as I would have seen it , its just below the description, just had a look and clearance items do not have an expiry date. I think its a bit unfair that you reserve an item at £X and then when you get to the store they want to charge more.
  • If you can prove that you have reserved at the sale price, then they should honour the price. It does say on website / reservation line that prices may change etc etc. However there is no clear policy either way. My advice is be nice, it usually means that you'll get the lower price.

Fairly new to this posting lark so apologies if this is in the wrong place, but Argos are giving out friends & family discount vouchers for 10% discount. This is for specific dates, which I think are 12th & 13th Dec. So if you know someone who works there, they may have some Christmas spirit in them & hand them out!

You don't reserve the price, just the item. But as ChrryPie said, if you're nice they may lower the price for you. Best thing to do (at the moment) is avoid reserving items on a Tuesday night to pick up Wednesday as this is when most of the prices change.

I see what you mean Collie - you are just reserving the item so no one else buys it but sometimes you see a bargin on Argos and reserve it simply because its at that cheap price ! I have always found argos to be very reasonable with refunds/exchanges/honouring prices. You are so right Cherry, always be nice, it usually gets you somewhere.
Thanks Collie I wil remember the tuesday/wednesday rule.
  • same thing happen to me ,so I phone up customer service and they explain that the price you pay is the price it was reserve at . I asked why have not the store managers been informed of this and they said that the store managers should know of this fact . to cut a long story short they phone up the store and I was refunded the amount between reserve price and full price
so any problems go and phone customer service
