He has recently retired and has received 100k + lump sum, and was wondering what the hell to do with it..

Your question will probably get more answers in the "Savings and Investment" forum.

That brief is far to open. You have tens of thousands of options available potentially.
What is he looking for from the money; income, growth, spend it. How long does it need it, what is his risk profile, what is his taxation etc etc.
Short of listing 50,000 or so options, there is no way we can help. Has your father discussed what he wants to acheive with you and do you know his personal circumstances in enough detail to do research for him?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
