So I'm looking for an mp3 player for my little sister (11yrs old). She says she wants only 20sougs which I know to be crap, as she will definately want more when she gets older.
Her budget is 35pounds or under, I'm looking for as high as possible a capacity, and a relatively small sized one, maybe based on flash drive technology, with a possible direct USB plug in. Any additions are appeciated.
The closest I have is this one
http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=ELEC&title=852357&p=292&g=376&pa=stgts1#
a basic 256mb for 17.99. partner reckons i can get it bigger for not much more money. anyone see any?
Thanks

Can't help you on the bigger size but I know Tescos were doing 128mb for £9.97.
I got my brother a cheap 256mb player from Sainburys for Xmas, I told him that if he can keep it safe for the next 6 months i'll buy him a bigger one on his birthday.:j Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus :j0 -
I brought my sister a USB connecting one from Tescos. It was 256mb and £19.990

If you just want MP3 then you cant beat this

£8.99 then just buy a SD Card from mymemory.co.uk, cost £17 for 512Mb, so less than £30 plus the ability to expand more if needed later on.
If you want a radio with it, theres one empire direct do, its superb. I bought it for my fiance for xmas, she hasnt put it down since!
Its a 256Mb one with the SD Card slot to add onto later, costs about £30 for it.

This Tesco one on-line £19.99 is the same as the one in store for £9.99. A previous poster on another thread mentioned that its 256mb not 128mb as stated on packaging. My DD has a 256mb (she is 10) and so far it has 3 full CD's on it.

i believe 256 is around 4 or 5 albums which is alright, but i think the play.com one is the cheapest at this capacity, at 17.99 online. 9.99 in tescos is amazing price, but id like 512mb if possible which is around 8 or 9 albums.
as big as a capacity as possible for less than 30quid if possible....:A Boots Tart :A0 -
She is only 11 and will probably lose it or get bored with it. In a few months time you will no doubt be picking up a 512mb for £10 in Tesco. Remember digital cameras.
