  • Hi bb. I think you might be able to find that you are looking for on the Old Style board. Lots of money saving tips for groceries and meal planning there, an also ideas as to how to make your leftovers stretch that bit further. Hope this helps.xx
  • Oops, the typo gremlin got in there. I meant to say "what" you are looking for, not that. Doh!
  • I'm a bit of a mixer when it comes to shopping. I collect vouchers for things I've seen that I need for various different supermarkets, I check prices at mysupermarket.com for cheap deals and I use my local market and butcher.

Pop on over to the MoneySaving Old Style board to get a better answer to your question as well as some really handy tips on budget, meal planning, etch... http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=33
  • i use asda and lidle for most bits, but fruit and veg i get from the local greengrocers and i use the local butchers for meat. its so much nicer than the supermarket even though its a couple of quid more expensive.

The last 18 months I am Asda on a friday and lidl/aldi in the week for bits and pieces and nappies. Also I am aiming more towards who has the offers and don't spend any more money once I am there. There is five of us in the family and don't do too bad.

Gone are the days of people saying things like "Oh you don't shop there do you ". Annoys me.

    Hi bunny boiler

I shop at Lidl very week for specific things which I find does work out cheaper than most other places. My Lidl list includes fruit and veg (esp. veg, which often has half price offers), pasta, tins - tomatoes, sweetcorn, butter beans, etc, bacon lardons, bread flour, some juice for the kids, cleaning products, chocolate (occasionally!), olive oil, loo roll, and stuff like that. They also do great Xmas nibbles, and amazing frozen seabass!

I shop at Sainsbury, I know they're expensive, but it's just round the corner. So it would cost transport/delivery costs to shop elsewhere and it may not be worth it. There's a Lidl down the road, will need to take a bus for 10 mins though. Although I won't be doing much food shopping soon as I'mmoving soon!

Be prepared to shop around before you part with your cash as everyone has offers on at different times :D
