new boiler and double glazing in Aberdeen

just moved to aberdeen area and need some help.
firstly, i need to fit a new boiler, but don't know of any good companies to get quotes from
secondly, just received a quote for double glazing from thistle windows, awaiting quotes from two other companies, are thistle as good as their radio adverts make out

2 years ago got quotes from thistle and aberdeen joinery for knocking a hole in the house and installing a new window, thistle was a few pounds more but as they were a bigger co. we accepted their quote. They then came back and said they'd forgotten to quote for scaffolding and increased their price considerably so we went with Aberdeen Joinery who did a good job and we've had no problems with the window since. Sorry don't know about boilers.

Worth a quote anyway.

I've been very impressed by them so far, should be finished tomorrow lunchtime, just got a couple of pipes to connect up and a wee bit of repair work on the neighbours wall (the layout of our houses is weird and they accententally poked a hole in the neighbours wall, but they appologised and are sending a plasterer tomorrow to fix it)
The guys doing the installation are great and the lady in the office who arranged the installation and has been very helpful with payment has been great too.

As with your windows I'd go for 3-ish boiler quotes. Don;t bother with brittish gas, they wanted another £1k and were going to be doing less work. Seems pretty standard from BG

Actually scrap that - having received the invoice we are disputing charges with them, the helpful lady isn't being so helpful any more :rolleyes:

I had my dg done in may wih a company called Northen Scotland Joinery, They are based in Dundee, but i live in Aberdeen.
I would throughly recommend them, cheapest quote and manage to get £500 knocked off it by saying I would be fexible with dates.
Whole house dg, new front and back doors done in 2 days.
Cleaned up afterwards, very polite, respected my house.
Did a 5 star job imho
