  • I wouldn't want to demand it as I do appreciate the position I am in. I just wanted to know if it was something they would take off in the effort to make you pay.

But I wont be paying anything until I have something in writing. I am paying one of them off today and with that I am having them email me a copy of the confirmation letter before they get a penny.

For other people to get an idea for settlement, can you post up the % of those that settle? Glad to see you're getting some results with this.

  • What I will do is post a full breakdown of all the settlements I've agreed around the middle of next month when it's all done and dusted. Just agreed £1188 on a debt of £2056 with RBS, £1425 on a debt of £2848 with Halifax and £1952 on a debt of £3500 with Natwest. Pretty good figures I think.

Still confused about the disappearing debt I mentioned earlier. Experian haven't got a clue going on but it can't have just vanished. Can it? Maybe I should request my credit reports off the other agencies as well.
  • Bump. Hope nobody minds.

I think Experian and Equifax do the free trial, but not sure about callcredit. You can get your credit report sent to you for only £2 though.

Someone on another thread had mentioned that they do not have their mortgaage listed on any of their credit files, so i guess there are a few that slip the net.

Any idea when it will become statute barred?

  • It's not for about 3 years so I'm not really interested in waiting.

Also, and this sounds ridiculous, I would feel a fraud just not giving them anything back. I would rather give what I can afford to even though it is only about 50%. Like I say, totally ridiculous I know.
