Loans Refused But No CCJs? Where Next?

I was chatting with a co-worker today regards to over spending at Christmas when she broke down in tears regards to her current £££ situation. She didnt go into too much detail only that she desperatly want sto consolidate her CC debt (20k - 25k) as she can no longer keep up the payments, she has recently fallen behind with a few payments but has caught back up and has never had a ccj.

Can anyone recommend a loan company that would be able to help her? She has been turned down a number of times and doesnt know which way to turn. I have suggested logging on here as its a wealth of info but she only has internet access at work so its a little difficult.

Any help would be fantastic

Thanks

Emma

  • are the way to go, having read that particular book too many times, and if she applies too many times for loans then she will damage what credit rating she has.

I don't know if you have access to a printer (other than at work) but could you print off Martins help pages?

The other method would be to tell her to get a copy of Martin's book as I guess that would contain the advice that she might find on here.

There are threads here that contain info and advice that will be relevant and interesting to her, even if the circumstances are not exactly the same. Maybe you could print some of them for her to read.

My worry for anyone in her situation would be that she finds a way to consolidate her debts (thereby possibly making them cost more in the long run) but doesn't address the overspending that might have caused her to be in debt. Obviously I am only making assumptions as I do not know her situation but maybe she needs someone to suggest that aspect to her. If she can find an hour on the internet (library is a good idea) there are always people on here to offer advice and support.

Wish her luck from me x

I didn't mean to suggest that you be the one to talk to her about it, more that hearing opinions and advice (all supportive) from strangers on here might be helpful for her. Thought I'd clarify!
