Hi all .. am a real novice at all this money saving malarkey and posting on this site but have a feeling it's going to be really useful seeing my ups and downs just like everyone else!
I am thinking that signing up for things is a good way to get a grip and focus on ways to save not fritter money away.:j Well lets hope eh. I am signing up for a couple of challenges to get me started into new ££ habits.

    Sooo please could I sign up for not-as -many-as you experts- ... 5 NSD's
    ThanksXX

welcome, welcome lilgrayfox! :D Always good to have another wannabe MSE-er on-board! I'm sure you'll find the challenge really helpful - this is only my third month doing it, but it's making a big difference to the way I think about money already!

Good luck on your first month!

NSD today. 2 down 8 to go
  • 17-20
Yesterday was my first NSD of the month. Today was a spend all planned and budgeted for, but included a significate portion of my grocery budget + present (including some for next year) spending all with good deals. Tommorrow will also be a spend day, meeting friends for coffee, no other spending planned until Monday, will just have to see how I get on.

Sorry you had such a rotten shopping trip Jacks - but you do make me laugh! :rotfl:

    xxx

    Cheers honeybun:D

No NSD for me - again  - cos I decided to buy hubby's Christmas and Birthday presents whilst his favourite shop seems to be having a sale so 4 shirts 2 ties and a set of silver cufflinks later I'm now far too scared to look at my bank balance! (Oh well...he's going to be 50 - I had to buy him something!)

Shirts and ties sound so boring though huh? He'll get a few other bits and bobs as well but only little things to make up the numbers - like chocolate brazils and brandy. (yum!)

My lovely hubby says he is always ridiculously grateful when I restock his wardrobe for him because it means that not only has he not had to pay for any of these things, he hasn't had to enter a retail establishment or make decisons about what goes with what and all the stress that would involve either. Bonus! :D

Bless his little cottons, but just in case I wasn't planning on getting him some shirts this year he's told me three times that several of his work shirts are looking rather clapped out and he'll need to retire them to gardening / working on the house attire after the next wear which will leave him a little short of stuff to wear for work...

Awww - love him! I'm nowhere near as easy to buy for! :p

Love Jacks xxx :D (who will get an NSD soon I promise!)

PS I'm really sorry to hear about the redundancy skint_catt. :(

PPS I hope you get better quickly Lilmissmup. Man Flu is a tough one! :D

I have had to spend money already boooo!
Had to buy socks as it snowed overnight, which meant I had to walk to work (buses don't like snow!) which meant I got wet feet- hence socks. Very annoyed.

But I have dry feet :D
