Gift for Difficult Brother (doesn't like anything!)

I need some ideas for what to get my 22-year-old brother. He's a student, has a car, is gadgety and computery but also works so he pretty much buys himself whatever he likes and downloads music and films. He reads but isn't one for nice editions or hardbacks etc. To top it all we don't get on but I'm trying hard to fix that.

I had decided to get him an electric blanket, which I know he would actually like; I mentioned this to my mum, who's just told me she's "done a bad thing" and stolen my idea! So now I'm stuck.

It was his birthday last month and I got him tickets to a comedy night, which seemed to go down well and he really enjoyed. Could stick with this as a safe bet but anyone have any other ideas?! The car route could be good, maybe pay for it to be valeted? I don't know how much this costs but budget would be 25 to 30 pounds.

Thanks for any help!

My brother is a pain in the !!!! too, he has everything and earns much more than I do. We've done a Secret Santa this year as there are 4 brothers and sisters and 2 partners, so to buy decent presents for 5 people can add up.
We set a budget of £40ish and I've created him a Chinese cooking hamper (thought of and completed before even joining this board)

Does he like cooking? Does he live in a shared house or halls or is he still at home? How about some stuff for his car? How about something to wear?

Thanks for the ideas, that's the kind of thing I'm looking for! I think decent food is the one thing he doesn't splash out on so I could make him a hamper of luxury food and beer etc.

I bought him a jumper one year and he never wore it, saying it was chavy - thing is I thought he was a chav!
  • Charity gift- a loo, a goat, condoms etc etc, with a little gift to go with it eg some novelty bog roll etc.

THis is what I do for my relies who "have everything and are very particular about what they give house room too" as I'd hate a carefully chosen gift just to be junked after the fesrive season.

Initially I thought they'd think it was a bit odd, but actually they love it and can see exactly the point to it- SIL says she's hoping for her own herd of goats soon!

Food/beer is always a good bet, but these relies of mine are even a bit of a pain as to what they will eat and drink- always on some sort of fancy diet, so even that wouldn't be used, probably.

Another charity gift would be to buy him an Acre of Rainforest. At least he can then claim to be a landowner when boasting to his mates. Gave my OH this last Christmas as there was nothing he really wanted or needed.
Seem to remember I got it through the World Land Trust but if you Google "Donate An Acre of Rainforest" am sure you'll track it down.
  • This website is a good choice for alcoholic drinks with a bit of gift appeal.

How about a childhood themed present?
A board game, an annual, stocking fillers, cars, light saber kind of thing?
If hes a coffee drinker - a coffee machine - theres some reduced on another board?

Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together
