Who Makes It?

Here is a tip from my line of work. If you want to find out who makes a brand name product be it ZANUSSI or HOMEPRIDE (Campbells) look on the Government Website of the Trademarks office. You type in the brand name and just click search (ignore the other options) next will come up a long list of trademarks, click on the one that matches yours so for example "ZANUSSI" scroll to the bottom of the page and look for applicant / proprietor- in this case you will see "ELECTROLUX HOME PRODUCTS ITALY S.p.A." if you repeat the search for "TRICITY" you will see " ELECTROLUX PLC"

So by doing this free search you have discovered that ELECTROLUX make ZANUSSI and TRICITY - So you don't need to splash out cash on the dearer ZANUSSI make. It's the same with LORUS, PULSAR and SEIKO (all SEIKO)

So remember folks, just because you have never heard of a brand name it does not mean it ain't any good!

If you have a piece of equipment be it a Scanner, Calculator, Camera the chances are it will bear a strange sticker which starts of with FCC ID xxxxxxxx xx - This code identifies the original maker of that item and this can be tracked down on the some what long winded American website below:

    https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/cf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm

So when searching for the code on my Packard Bell Scanner I discover it is really made by MUSTEK Germany, I can then use that info to track down the Driver/Manual whatever.

The code number can be tricky to find and is normally on the underneath but sometimes its inside on the circuit board.

    Hope this helps you folks.
