Try being someone who believes in God yet loves fckuing men...methinks it will be straight to Hell for me with no chance of Purgatory
Sorry, I forgot to say hi. *waves* I've been keeping up with your thoughts for a while; I stumbled across you when reading about your veggie oil filled car. How is that running at the moment?
I think there is an easy solution to the email from Christian Pete. Send a cordial reply and add in your explanation about missing the wedding. Not only will it unburden you a little (I'm not saying you are weighed down by it, IYSWIM?) but also, if Pete really is a Christian, then he ought to have forgiven you by now.

Brilliant !
If there is one thing that is always guaranteed to put a smile on my face then its the clergy confronted by same sex relationships. Oh how (some) they squirm, "Love your fellow man" (Matthew 22:39 'Love your neighbor as yourself.') and at the same time, "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them" Leviticus 18:22- Nice.
Doesn't it make you smile when you say out loud "Christian Pete", we started doing it at work after seeing Robin Hood prince of thieves, Morgan Freeman's character called everyone Christian. I haven't emailed him yet, but on your advice and words of wisdom I promise to do so Notty, but I wont mention the wedding unless he does. I am still burdened by it, it must have been terrible for him and a real let down and normally I would joke in the style of Bill Hicks "your a Christian? well forgive me then".
As some one who finds religion and most of its notions hilarious, which you may have gathered form some my rants about the subject, I think the notion of forgiveness a very noble one. Having travelled the world and lived in Israel in the 90's I have met some very devout and serious people. One chap from the American deep south was talking about creationism and when he told me that he knows lots of educated people that think the earth is only 5500 years old and Dinosaur fossils are a test of faith, I nearly fell off my bar stool with shock and laughter. Another time I was chatting with a Muslim lady and she asked me if I knew of the prophet Mohamed (peace be upon him and all that crap), me thinking of engaging with a Muslim, this will be interesting, replied, but of course, to which she said that I was going to go to the worst kind of hell (I know love, I've laughed at wheel chair users) because I recognised Mohamed (peace be upon him and all that crap) as the one true prophet but choose not to follow him. Not quite the engaging conversation I was hoping for, in fact it really upset me. For God's sake Notty please don't be Gay in a Muslim country or will be both in the "worse" kind of hell.
The car is running great at the moment, I think so far this year I have spent £74 now on dino and all other fuel has been free, I tend to stick 10 litres in with every other 40 litres of veg, still haven't got the bottle to go 100%.
Glad you stopped by, the world needs brightening up with sunshine and God has entrusted gay people to do it-keep up the good work and ignore any one who tells you other wise- what do they know? Jim.0 -

I haven't seen that film in so long. Something to do this week I feel.worried_jim wrote: »As some one who finds religion and most of its notions hilarious
I'm with you on that to a large degree. I guess I'm just hedging my bets with Him upstairsworried_jim wrote: »One chap from the American deep south was talking about creationism and when he told me that he knows lots of educated people that think the earth is only 5500 years old and Dinosaur fossils are a test of faith

Wow! £74? That must be pretty pleasing. If I was living in Brighton and saving that kind of cash I'd be spending the savings on local men
Hope you are well.

Knowing some of my friends £74 would go a long way !
Had a good week at work (so far) and have promised to take cakes in tomorrow, normally I'd nip to the co-op on the way but today I'd thought I'd try something different and mse and have baked my own chocolate brownies, the oven is on and they should be ready in about 10 mins. Could be a disaster, I've not baked a cake for 23 years.
I emailed Christian Pete this morning and just got a reply a few mins ago, he is a trainer Vicar ! PMSL. No mention of the wedding- thank God. Have been to see the racist pensioner today and he gave me six bottles of wife beater so I am in a good mood this evening and all ready to hurl abuse at the tv whilst dragons den is on- where do they find these muppets? Although if I was on that show "yeah my invention is called toilet paper, cos without it it can get a bit sticky". As soon as Deborah says "i'm out" I would be like "thank God, you are a dragon and scare the !!!!!! out of me ". She never backs anything. Tight b1tch.0 -
I have been reading a lot of books about Death Row at the moment, really riveting reading and you can feel your heart beating.
One of the books I got for £1 off Amazon second hand ,"Death at midnight" by Donald A. Cabana-
http://www.amazon.com/Death-At-Midnight-Confession-Executioner/dp/1555533566
It mentioned a BBC film crew spending time at Parchman to film an execution and this instantly reminded me of a documentary we had to watch at school in the late '80 which had a profound effect on me but I've never seen it repeated or could remember the name, I instanlty new this was the documnetary we has seen at school and after an internet search managed to get a copy.
The film in question is called "Fourteen Days In May" about the execution of a man called Edward Earl Johnson in 1987. It is available to see now through a web broweser @ http://www.veoh.com/browse/videos/category/entertainment/watch/v15287553QAAPtG6T
I have just finished it and have to admit I feel really emotional, I 'd forgotten how powerful the film is and it really took me back to my school days. It was very interesting to see Don Cabana in the film and I used his book as a reference whilst watching as in the film it doesn't show how he felt after, where as in the book he went home and showered for ages because he felt dirty.(the prison warden who oversaw Johnson’s gassing, eventually resigned over his misgivings about carrying out executions and wrote this book about it.)
Most books about the subject tend to be from the viewpoint that the death penalty is wrong and that most people on death row (in USA I'm talking about) are there because of rubbish defence lawyers etc. Does anyone know of any good books in support of the system, it would be nice to get another view on the subject. Somebody thinks it is a good idea or they would abolish it (again). For me my mind was made up in a classroom 22 years ago.0 -
I stopped going to church as people were so anti gay and my best friend is gay. I would not give him up for anything. He is the best friend i have ever had. I hope people become more tolerant as i get older.
Oh Jim you do make me laugh but always think too.

Good for you ! sticking with your friends and doing what right in your heart, only you can know what is right and what is wrong and having some hypocrites try and tell you is not going to work. Stick to your guns.0

I need to buy new shoes!
For the last 7 years I have been finding and recording or downloading every great song that I've ever heard. Songs that bring back brilliant and happy memories such as a childhood holiday in Cornwall with family, friends and grandparents-Van Morrison's brown eyed girl.
Sneaking off for a dirty weekend with a married woman-Tracey Chapman-fast car.
First foreign holiday with a girlfriend to Magaluf in '92- Snap- Rhythm is a dancer.
I could do this list all day, and quite often do in my mind,
Hanging out with the monkeys in India-Natasha Bedingfield-These words.
Memories and songs jump out all day long and always make me smile, it's why I love all music so much. Many of these records are not to my taste, but its the memory that they evoke which makes them so special. I pretty much completed my collection of 20,189 songs (yeah I know, it's a lot) a year ago and have been chasing the odd one that I can't quite remember the title or artist since.
Well today I have passed a milestone as there has only been one song missing (until I remember the next one). It has been very hard for me to get as it is French and I don't know the title, artist, or words and it has been bugging me for ages. As I have the day off today and have a bit of time I thought I would get the Guardian and read a quality paper for a change, I am glad that I did as it has changed my life. Today there is a story about a dispute going through a Belgian court about whether an artist sang on a 1977 hit, I knew instantly that this was that elusive song, ladies and gentleman I give you-Plastic Bertrand - Ca Plane Pour Moi.

My life and record collection are complete, I am going to the pub to celebrate, I don't care if he sang it or not, I am having a good day.0
