Best way to finance a 13K Toyota Avensis

Hi All

Many thanks to all who helped on my previous post.

I currently have a Toyota Avensis on a contract lease which I intend to get out of by purchasing the car out of the contract.

I am estimating that Toyota will offer me a figure of around 13K for the car. Its 9 months old and done just over 26000 miles as a rep-mobile!!!

The car, for you info, is a D4-D T4 2.0 Diesel.

Any tips on haggling with Toyota Financial Services to get the price down and most importantly, what its the best way to finance this purchase?

Thanks all.

  • Hope this helps...............

I financed the purchase of my Ford Focus last February - £6,000 from a garage with a Credit Card. Then I ordered up two more CC's and put £4K on one and £2K on the other - both new CC's were at 0% interest for 9 months.

There was a 3% handling charge from the garage, but appart from that, I've paid absolutely no interest at all.

Obviously, I've needed to switch the remaining outstanding amounts onto two new CC's in the past couple of months - but have about £4,500 outstanding overall. And I've spent absolutely nothing on the cards since the car.

Takes a bit of initial organising on the cards and payments, but in my mind, why should I pay any more interest overall than I need to ?

And I got the car as the old one would have cost too much to put right, so I really needed to get something that I really wanted and a Ford Focus fitted my plans exactly.

Well that sounds very interesting. Didn't the car showroom mind that you gave them three credit cards to pay for the car?

I am thinking of trading in my Fiat Punto (03 reg) for something like a Renault Clio. Anybody got any ideas how much my Fiat would be worth now and whether there are any 0% deals out there on a Clio?

    Thanks

The initial £6K to buy the car was done on one credit card.

Then when I got home, I ordered up 2 new ones and split the £6K, so that I would pay 0% interest.

Just now paying off the remaining amount - no chance that I will spend anything else onto any credit cards, so far everything is going smoothly.
