If that used to cost £999 I will eat my brocolli.

Very good price now, the 1.3Ghz lets it in my opinion. Although widescreen, dvd writer and wireless card will be very hard to find at that price.

1.3 Celeron running XP on 256mb?

It will be painfully slow, plus the battery life is shocking for such a low-specc'd machine.

The onboard graphics will leech upto another 128mb of your system RAM depending on what you're doing, further slowing everything down.

I'd advise you to steer clear.

If these were flying out the door I very much doubt that Woolies would have knocked £100 off them

P.S My grandad says he can remember when they were £999!

I have this laptop. It cost me the £499. I am not a techie though. Use it for ebay, browsing the web, selling on amazon and I love it. Just my opinion and I wish I had got it for £399! Only thing I can say I have not noticed it being painfully slow atall.

Nothing wrong with this lappy m8, I got one for my sis, just fire in some more memory , I stuck in an extra 512MB in her one and it's a great running Lappy for that price. As memory is so cheap these days, try https://www.7dayshop for a quote .

Also I tend to say that Medion's warranty is fare better than some id like to mention out there , our branch of woolies was sold out in a few days with them.

    good luck m8

    Another question re: memory

I haven't a clue how to 'add' memory. Do I have to try and do it myself or can I take it to a computer shop and ask them to do it for me?

I'm clueless when it comes to stuff like this ... yet I'm an IT teacher in a Primary School, lol.

It is easy to fit into this laptop, remove the 7 tiny screws underneath, lift the panel and the memory is sitting right at the front.
