I'm concerned about heaters

Afternoon all,
The heaters in the apartment I'm moving into are supposed to be new storage heaters, I have no idea of the make/model but I have a small picture of one on one of the walls
To me, this looks nothing like any storage heater I've ever seen, and more like a standard electric heater. Can somebody with a better knowledge of heating appliances from afar give me their expert opinion? I would really appreciate it!

Storage heaters are very heavy and sit on the floor. That looks like a standard panel heater that runs on normal rate electricity - expensive! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

That's exactly what I thought. Think I will be demanding my money back.0

It doesn't look like a storage heater to me either. If that uses normal electric rates its going to cost you a fortunate to heat, electric is costs far more to use to heat than gas0

Well, the advert said it had storage heaters. So if they are not storage heaters, I won't be moving in. Simple as that. I shall also demand my non-refundable deposit back. False advertising really is nasty.
The letting agency is ringing me this afternoon, so I will confirm what sort of heaters they are with them.0 -
They are standard heaters, but I've seen the average running price for them and it's not at all bad (must be due to them having thermostats on). Panic over.0

They will cost you around 4 times more to run compared what an equivalent gas fired system would. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Must be a good sales person this letting agent! You should still be concerned about running cost. Cheap to install, expensive to run.

That's a panel heater, but the flat may well have storage heaters elsewhere.
It's not unusual to have say a storage heater in the lounge and another in the hallway, whilst having panel heaters in the bedrooms."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

The cost of running them??
All electrical heating produces exactly the same amount of heat as any other electrical heater.
There are masses of systems that advertise it only costs xxP to warm a room to yyC. Well if their fancy system can do that so can any other electrical heating.
Electrical heating is still the most expensive way of heating - period!!!!0 -
I didn't say otherwise, but until you get it into your head that people sometimes don't have any other means of heating their houses/flats/apartments it's pointless discussing it with you.
You clearly like to post and spread rubbish here (judging from some replies to your posts).
If I can live with heating bills of approx £50 a month, I have no problems, so you certainly shouldn't.0
