There is a sale of vintage clothes and gifts and eco friendly products in Oran Mor, top of Byres Road in the West End of Glasgow on 26th April. It is "Say no to Plastic" run by Heather Suttie and all proceeds go to Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice and Action for Children, I think. You can buy tickets in advance from Oran Mor and usually there's a goodie bag for the first couple of hundred who arrive. (Free 'Say no to Plastic' jute bag)

There have been quite a few of these sales over the past few months and it seems to be very popular, you can usually read about them in Heather Suttie's column in the "Sunday Post", probably in the Evening Times the week before as well.

Also in Glasgow there are alot of vintage style shops in the Byres Road, in the West End. I don't live near there but one name I have heard of is Mr Ben. There was a charity shop in the news the other week in Milgavie which was selling very cheap excess stock from Jimmy Choo!! The more affluent the area...the better the stock in the charity shops seem to be. Charity shops round me are not fantastic, great for kids toys but thats about it.
  • Mr Ben's is in the city center, it's ok (as is retro city vintage), but Starry Starry Night in the west end is better. Just opposite hillhead underground station. I got a bow tie in there for about £3, on ebay they seem to start at about £9! Lots of interesting stuff in there :)
