need some reassurance from mse old timers! lol

Hey everyone!

I am really just at the start of my DFW journey and just wanted to know that there are MSEers out there who have been in for the long haul and come out the other side debt free? My debt seems small by comparison to some peoples, i have the debs in my sig which i need to pay off and i also have a consolidation loan which i am making the monthly payment on untill these are gone which i will then overpay. I have a history of running up debt and consolidating which i have now stopped since i realised quite how much money i was throwing away and that i didnt really have anything to show for it. I'm sure we all have down days where we feel fed up at being skint! It would make me feel tremendously better if people who have been through all this and are now debt free could post their storys for inspiration to all us newbies!

Sorry for the essay!

love,

  • I'm not debt free. But I came here with 16k of joint debt. I know full well I wouldn't be where I am now without MSE. Sounds a bit sad but the community here has dragged my through many a rough patch, including a recent split from my husband. It's not been easy but we all get there in the end. The key is having support, which is what the guys here do better than anyone.

    Good luck.

  • I'm not DF either yet but I'm on the home run. I would advise grab all the support you can in the good times and the bad. We've all been there at one point or the other and the key to getting Df is the ID and change the habits which got us all into debt in the first place. As we all know changing habits can be hard hence the need for support/encouragement/advice from fellow DFW's.

    Good luck:cool:

What I owe now is just my sole debt. Before we split up our joint debt was at about 6k. No idea what his is now. Dread to think. But that's not my worry anymore. lol!
Life has it's ups and downs, but everyone gets there in the end. Have to take the rough with the smooth and never lose sight of your target.
