you say about price increases, our local somerfield was increasing all the prices on a lot of their goods by about 3-4p per item today, ready for next weeks vat cut, so they can then offer us vat busting deals, in effect still making the store a tidy profit. Rip off britian.0

Supposed to be working at PC World as well, but everytime I add an external HDD to the basket and go to checkout (the reduction is supposed to occur at checkout), the cost comes back the same...0

You pay VAT on your calls, its up to your provider to reduce the call rates.0 -
I have been checking a panasonic tv price on currys website.
It has been at £474 for some time but today was increased to £485.
Pure coincidence or another example of ripping off consumers?0 -
It is a case of decimalisation all over again ! Most people will be too young to remember but when we moved to the new decimal system all the prices went up.
One of three things will happen:
1. The retailer passes the saving to you and I - actually 2.1276 % discount on the current price as the maths are Retail Value / 1.175 X 1.15 or 97.87 % of the current value.
2. The prices are inflated and then reduced by 2.5% which will fool most people. This will have to happen as a 2.5% reduction which people will expect will eat into their margain.
3. The retailer does nothing except change the VAT percent on their tills, thereby gaining the extra from the sale at the current price.
Be very careful !0
