Me and the wife are going to view a property this week its been on the market since 2006 sold twice and fell through (broken chain) so the agents have told me, the price is £235,000 and is empty, it sold for £170,000 in 2002 not sure how desperate they are to sell and we are cash buyers and will rent out our existing property if we get this one however we are in no hurry. I have read on this forum about do not buy for a year or so. Where should I start if we want to make an offer in view of the price sold for in 2002.

Why not go for 50% off the asking price and see if they bite. A xDon't believe everything you think.

I cant believe they would accept that - surely not0 -
Well all they can say is no.....they can't put you in prison for it !!. You can always offer a bit more if you really want it. At least you won't have the lingering feeling that you paid more than they would have taken. A xDon't believe everything you think.

What do you want the good folk here to say? The only info you have given is:
Lincolnshire
On at £235k
Sold prev at £170k in 2002
How about a Rightmove link or something?
What do you think it is worth? Knock a bit off that figure because it's been on the market a long time and is empty.
BTW, for the same asking price, this one is also in Lincolnshire and seems quite nice. How do they compare?
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-15519937.rsp?pa_n=10&tr_t=buyNo reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Blimey ... that's a long house!0

That's a nice house but it's S!!!!horpe !!. I don't think they'd reduce that by 50% at the moment though.
There's a lot of different areas in Lincs... but...on the market a year and empty....if they're not getting desperate they should be. A x
The swearing police have 'bleeped' me, oh dear.Don't believe everything you think.

This has been on the market 2 years although I am not sure if its been empty for all that time the agent told me that the owners would show me round for the veiwing means its not a repo.0 -
Fixed it. This stupid filter annoys me more than the problem it is allegedly designed to fixchrisandanne wrote: »That's a nice house but it's SCUNThorpe !!. I don't think they'd reduce that by 50% at the moment though.

The swearing police have 'bleeped' me, oh dear. After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?0
