    This is my idea i've just added to another thread...

    For my 25th my brother got me new number plates - not personalised, still my same number, but with a message printed above 'supreme being'. That was pretty cool and you can personalise the message for your new man. You need to take all the vehicle reg docs etc... The message is in little print across the top - quite subtle.
    Just £10,852.28p to go...

    :D

    Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...";
    And then do it.

    If you are buying plates please check out the law on number plates as they legally are supposed to be plain.

    how about a gift experience? I have bought my OH a sphering experience and with a £5 code off I paid just over £28 delivered (even get a lovely little tin.) Looks expensive but is on offer at the moment

    Hi Amanda

    The first year we were married we decided to spend up to £5 on each other, and I haven't enjoyed putting together a Christmas present as much since.

    I put everything in a shoe box, all separately wrapped (including single socks!:rolleyes: ) with a limerick on each label so DH had to guess what was inside:confused: . My gifts included paperbacks from charity shops, a home-made backgammon set, cheap sweets, a packet of Rolos (the label said I wouldn't just give him my last one, as on the advert at the time, but he could have the whole packet!), a CD also from a charity shop, etc.

    Since joining MSE I would now include all sorts of home-mades - reindeer flannels, etc. The options are endless! Get him to look on it as a challenge rather than a problem of no money, and it turns into great fun!:j

    Hi chocolate orange, I am not 100% sure as they laws have changed recently. I know they got really strict with regards to putting names/badges/backing pictures on them and I believe the law was that the plates have to be plain, however you can still buy brand new cars which have the dealership plates on. Why not give them a ring then if you make yourself look female at least they can't see you.

    Sorry I can't help anymore.
