Organic Tinned tomatoes v Value

Hope this is the right place to post if not it can be moved.

I was checking the prices in tesco today and was about to pick up the 33p value toms as opposed to the 56p tesco or 93p Naplina ones when I noticed that they tesco chopped organic toms were only 42p for the same size tin no yellow sell or special offer pos.( had tonight and you could tell the difference ) I then checked out a few other lines and guess what the organic lines are only pennies dearer ( eg Lasange sheets 8p)in a lot of them and in one case ( Dove flour) cheaper. The cost of the value lines are so high these days that they are almost overtaking Organic.

So my message is check out the tesco Organic lines ( not meat though) as no-one has been buying them so there prices have stayed still while everything else is rising. Hope this helps those of you that prefer organic but have not been buying it ( like me) Upsy x:j

Glad I am not the only one: there IS a difference in the brands of tinned tomatos- I am not going mad!! I am not the onlyone to notice this!!!

Also, there is a difference in the taste of value and normal prawns, the different varieties of fizzy drink, of water, of value and normal fruit and vegetables (taste and texture, not just appearence- especially with oranges, apples, melon and tomatos).......

Cheap food tastes crap shocker. :rotfl:
  • In theory organic food could well become cheaper than conventional farmed products as there is no use of oil based items such as fertilizer, weed killer etc
