Self-Employed/When is my first tax bill due??

Hi,

I was registered self-employed up until end March 2007, tax owing up until that point was included in a Trust Deed (Scottish equivalent of an IVA). I then thad to stop working (mother was seriously ill) and started up again on 1 September 2007, which is when I started paying NI contributions from again.

I am due to fill in my tax return for the period 1 Sep 07 - 31 March 08, and want to know will I be liable for a tax bill at end Jan 09 for that period?

Yes you will, and 50% on account of next year too.
