    I though it was two weeks leave on full pay, im not sure seeing that i didint get to go!!lol

    Ah, if your info said full pay then it must have been company paternity pay, rather than statutory, where the company pay more, and for that you may well have needed to work there for a year before qualifying, as is normal at most places for this type of thing.

    I can see your frustration that they don't seem to have given a clear answer though.

    I think honeypop is correct.

    Your company will probably have their own separate paternity pay scheme, which will pay 2 weeks off at full salary, but only if you've worked there for over a year.

    You'd be looking at the Statutory paternity pay of £117.18 a week, but I think with the due date you would have just missed out on this entitlement.

    You could always ask for a couple of weeks unpaid?
    Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
    Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

    No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

    This thread has totally confused me!

    OP are you the Father or the Mother of the child??

    Paternity leave/2 weeks off = Father of the child not Mother, I thought the title was just worded wrong until I read post #10

    :confused::confused::confused:

    LOL! I read it that he's the father. He didn't get paternity leave as he hadn't worked there long enough hence the "didn't get to go" comment (as opposed to not going on paternity leave because he was the mother!)
