Dyson DC07 animal £190 in store at Sainsburys

Hi,

I have been searching for a decent vacuum since reading the recent post regarding the Dyson DC11 priced £100 at Somerfields.
They sold out quickly, so I researched other Dysons. I used 'Which online' to find a vacuum that it is recommended for allergy sufferers since, even at this time of year, my wife is still suffering.
Dysons are not listed as best buys by Which, mainly because their reliability is below average.
However the DC07 animal is their best rated Dyson, recommended for allergy sufferers, so I looked into buying this (I wanted a bagless vacuum so rejected Bosch and Electrolux - both listed as best buys).
Not many places sell the DC07 Animal and there are variations such as the DC07 origin (Yellow) which Amazon are selling for about £140, but that product scored badly in comparison to the 'Animal' version.
Incidently, the Dyson DC11 all floors, which was available at Somerfields scored well too, but we were looking for an upright cleaner. If you open the Dyson website, it has a useful question system to determine which Dyson would suit your needs (weight, size, newest technology etc). Using this, the Dyson DC07 allergy was recommended, so I checked at Which to see if it was any good, and it was (The Animal version).
I found it online at Empire direct for about £190 inc delivery and some other place selling a clearance model for £180, but I decided that I didn't want to wait for delivery.
I searched Sainsbury online, but couldn't find any vacuums, and searched other stores also to an avail.
Slightly discouraged as I had spent most of the day looking for a decent vacuum to help with allergies, I went to my local Sainsbury and found several Dyson DC07 Animals on the shelf priced at £190.
Though Which do not recommend Dysons because of their poor reliability, they come with 2 year guarantees, plus if you use a Nationwide credit card they can add on an extra year onto the existing warranty (I think it covers vacuums) so it was definately worth it.
Mightily chuffed I bought the Dyson and tested it at home on a small patch of carpet. The previous day I had vacuum our place with an old Philips vacuum, but the Dyson picked up loads of dust from an area no bigger than four feet square!
Forgot to mention when I initially posted this, it was reduced from £300.
