Redundancy Law Question

Hi all.
I understand from reading other threads that when an employer is making more than 100 staff redundant they must give 90 days notice.
I work for a large company that is making 300-400 people redundant across the area, but only roughly 50 in my particular department. Would this mean we qualify for the 90 days notice, or do the 100 have to be all in the same department?
Also the positions in question are not technically being made redundant, just being reduced. There will be half as many jobs and we must all reapply for our own positions. Does this affect any rights we may have?
In addition, I'd just like to add my sadness and empathy for all those going through or being affected by redundancy at the moment.

Sometimes I feel like a pelican. Whichever way I turn, I've still got an enormous bill in front of me.

100 per location (not department) = requirement 90days
my empathy too.0 -
It is technically a redundancy situation if there is a requirement for less work to be done.0
