Sorry to hijack this and I hope you get things sorted HOOS, but I just read what Max had to say about Class 2 and 4 National Insurance Contributions. Have I understood this correctly, that these don't entitle the person paying them to either JSA or a state pension? If so, (a) what on earth are they for? and (b) what does a self-employed person do if they lose their work or get too old to work? Apologies if I've misunderstood.
Lily
No need for an apology LilyBart as this has opened up something else.
It seems there was no point in paying them then?
Anyway , thanks to the ADI's for your support.
I am thinking which already has been said, of maxing out the OD using a card £650 owing for living exspenses then going bust in the new year.
What may happen if this is the option I take?
I will still have the car and may have a job. I may even get some work teaching or driving an artic (another string to my bow) the latter option, you would of thought would be easy, but even the agencies are having problems.Better to be poor than a slave to wealth

Is that right about the paper. No announcement!!!!!!
I presume by your answer the od/cc plan would be acceptable, if all else fails

March 2009 was the latest whisper of when public announcements of BR will cease...this will probably change though :rolleyes:We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

Not everyone gets in the paper anyway - I don't think I did. We have 2 local papers and one only has company insolvencies and the other one doesn't have BRs either.

I was in the local paper, but not one person has made comment, including my current pupils. I did think I'd lost one pupil that week, but he made contact the next week as he'd been in bed sick. So I was worrying about nothing.
I've only looked and read the BR announcements since I started to consider BR. Since, I can't be bothered. I don't think most people have got the time.:DDebt free by 2025?0 -
I never looked at them before, but since going BR I read them whenever I happen to get a paper on the day they're published, and I think about these names I don't know and wonder how they're getting on. I don't have much time for "ooey-booey" spiritual stuff, but I figure it can't do any harm for someone to read them sympathetically, as opposed to people reading them trollishly and tut-tutting. Must say, I'm with Phil on the cessation of advertisements. I'll believe it when I see it. Or don't see it, if you see what I mean. Strikes me that whoever devises the policy will be in a right old spin at the moment trying to struck a balance between destigmatizing BR and discouraging even more BRs.0

I would also be wary about waiting for any changes. There've been rumours about changing the age at which people are allowed to get their driving licence since the 80's.:D
I like what you said about reading the BRs in the papers and thinking of them. It certainly can't do any harm!!:DDebt free by 2025?0 -
