Lots of customers in our store refuse. You dont have to give your details.

I've worked in retail for yonks and the only reason I know its for is for staff protection!

If a member of staff is suspected of fraud - like doing refunds and putting the money in their pocket - our audit dept contacts the name and address on the refund slip to make sure it all checks out.

Most recently our audit dept contacted 1 person who had apparently had 24 refunds in a short space of time - they had had ONE refund and a member of staff had just kept rewriting their address and pocketing the cash. She was charged a couple of weeks ago. Handwriting gave the game away
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...
  • i refuse to give my whole address just give my house number and postcode then anyone who needs to check can do so - for the very same reason Quackers mentions, i work in retail too
i'm living in a parallel universe
