I could never understand the whole getting up early thing on crimbo day!
I used to alternate christmas' between my mums and my dads (lived with my mum!). Christmas at mums was nice and chilled and present opening would start about 8 or even 9 by taking my stocking into my mums room and sitting on her bed opening it. Present opening would last almost all day.
Christmas' at my dads was hell!! My half-brother and sister (and any other children relatives) would not go to sleep until about 1am and then be badgering the adults from about 5 in the morning!

I have always been a sleep monster though!!

Hey Doodledo - hope you had a good Christmas? GF and I got back this afternoon and we're exhausted! Taxi to the airport, delayed flight, delayed train, underground connection and then another train :D

Next year we're talking about going on holiday for Christmas :p

Did the little one have a fun time?

Hi DD - am lurker on this forum and normally only have time to visit a certain couple of threads (apologies - haven't read all the way through the posts on this thread and haven't posted before) but just wanted to say hope you had a really lovely Christmas - and one thing is for sure from the posts I have seen, your little girl will have lovely & exciting memories of a great Christmas. Saw a post or two regarding fresh starts which has made me really admire & respect you for your attitude and how you have coped with what must have felt such a strange & scarey situation.

Thanks for your inspiration and all the best for a really, happy New Year.

Morning one and all haven't been around for a few days I have been distracted by Xmas and a..............................man :D Sshhhhh don't say anything lol

Pip26 - thank you so much for your post it was lovely and if I am honest bought a lump to my throat. Through all this I have tried to keep things as normal as I can for my little girl as she is far too young to understand the complexities of the breakdown of my marriage.

I think I am doing a good job so far as she hasn't changed. She had a fantastic Christmas as did I.

I really hope 2009 is a fab year for all of us DFW's.

Off to catch up with some more posts and then check online banking

Well he showed up slightly before Santa lol

Nothing major occurring at all way too soon for any of that but definately nice to get a bit of attention.

Will see how it pans out. When do I tell him about my debt and my obsession with this site lol

I'd wait 'til you've known him for a month or two and are best able to gague his reaction. That said, he may thank you for introducing him to a wonderful resource for financial planning :D That would be a bit nerdy, now that I think about it...
