Does Anybody know about Tesco Club Card Vouchers?

I havnt used them before but recently decided to give them a try. Got my first batch from Tesco. The vouchers dont have the name of the shop on it. How does the restaurant/shop know if the vouchers are from them? Are there any hassles using them?

Thx for the help

You can only use them in Tesco off your shopping unless you take up one of their offers . :)J

I am using them for the deals since they multiply the value by 4 times. Mainly plan to use them for restaurants and bowling etc

You can send away your Tesco clubcard vouchers and get 'deals tokens', (you have to specify which type of venue you want to use them at), which are 4 x the value of the vouchers. The minimum amount of vouchers you can redeem is £2.50, then increments of £1.25 after that - any unused amounts on the vouchers you send in get re-credited to your account and re-issued in the next quarterly clubcard mailing.

If you decided to go bowling at the Megabowl, do phone the particular Megabowl you intend to visit first, and find out which deals they will allow you to use your tokens on.

I have two local-ish, but the first one I tried would only let you buy 'straight' games, and not the 'family hour' or 'buy 2 get your 3rd game for a penny' deals. The other one was quite happy for me to spend my vouchers however I wanted, and I saved 3 or 4 quid on a single game for 5 children, AND we got a couple of extra rounds in before our time ran out.

It does say you can use your deals tokens just like gift vouchers, but that is probably open to interpretation by different managers/franchise operators. Also, you can't get change from the vouchers, so you'll want to suss out your spending exactly. They do come in £5.00 denominations as well, but as the minimum order is £2.50 in vouchers, (£10.00 in deals tokens), you only get a £5.00 voucher if you've spent an odd £1.25 as well, (ie. £3.75 in clubcard vouchers.)

I've got an extra £5.00 token left over from our bowling trip, so I'll have to see if they'll take it back and re-convert it into clubcard points, as they only last 6 months before expiring. (Clubcard vouchers themselves last 2 years.)

It was a great deal, though. I always think of bowling as quite expensive, but we got one game (plus a bit extra for 5 kids, for the equivalent of £5.00 in clubcard vouchers. I was pleased.

the vouchers just say 'clubcard deals' on them and are in £5 or £10 vouchers. they are valid in most of the places listed. the only exceptions are for some things which you need to send off for asking for a specific voucher, such as entry to alton towers. it details this on the website, tells you if it's deals tokens or specific tickets you need to ask for.

the vouchers i asked for for theme parks (drayton manor park etc.) were just ordinary deals vouchers, i ended up getting somebody on the gate who accepted my andrex 'free child' vouchers then just took deals tokens for the adults, although i doubt i'd be that lucky again lol! so i had some spare deals tokens and as they weren't specific we used them in bella italia for food :-)

the tokens have a use by date on them, around 6 months after you get them.

so the deal vouchers that are £10 or £5 each can be used anywhere that Tesco vouchers are accepted? So the ones for Bella Italia can be used at megabowl and vice versa etc?

yes they can, as long as those venues accept the ordinary 'deals' token rather than specific tickets. i think you need specific tickets for alton towers, blackpool, etc.

They are dollar off vouchers/gift certificates. anybody try using them in ASDA and sainsburys?
  • We use them for short breaks. Took my Mum to Paris for 5 nights all on Tesco vouchers. We had a family week away as well all paid for by good old Tesco. We do have a tesco credit card and it soon mounts up.
