Welcome to the BM converts! I had my BM (Panasonic) for my birthday at the start of November and it's been used every single day since........

Would just say I think the loaves made using the longer cycles are nicer than the "quick" cycles, so be sure to try that way too!

    Enjoy the bread!

  • i will do - we have had the fast loaf already with our lunch - it is definately nicer than the cheap bread you buy i.e. tesco value but was a bit stodgy. am just doing another fast one for my mum then am going to do a chocolate loaf to have for desert after dinner! than i might put one in over night on the long cycle to have tomorow for lunch!

have noticed though that it uses loads of flour. will have to start buying it in bulk and getting the free yeast from the bakery at tescos instead of buying the dry stuff.

  • Congratulations funkymonkey on your new buy. Any idea how much it costs to make a loaf of bread using a breadmaker. I have been tempted to buy one. But just wondering how money saving these can be.

All replies would be appreciated and enjoy your bread funkymonkey.

  • ok here is the recipie for the chocolate bread - as provided by the MR instruction booklet -

    1 cup (200mls) water
    1 tblspn oil
    1 beaten medium egg
    2 & 1/8 cups flour
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 tspn salt

then after the first kneading session my machine beaps and i add 1/4 cup of chopped wallnuts

total time on my machine is 3 hrs which involves two kneading sessions then two warmed rising sessions then a 55 min bake. will be ready in 45 mins so will let you know how good it is!

    Welcome to the club!
I have sweet dough in mine at the moment which will turn into cinnamon buns. I will then put in a granary loaf for tomorrow's breakfast.
    Loving the sunny days!
