I can never remember, is it 2 copies of the accounts and 2 copies of the comp or 2 copies of the accounts and 1 copy of the comp?

  • A copy of the Accounts and computations has to be submitted to HM Revenue & Customs with the CT600 (Corporation Tax return).

A signed copy of the Accounts must also be submitted to Companies House.

my accountant only advised full set of accounts (signed) to HMRC. it was a summarised set to Companies house.
  • One set of the FULL accounts with one copy of the tax computations is submitted to HMRC along with the corporation tax form ct600.

Small/medium companies can file ABBREVIATED accounts at companies house.

HMRC only need a copy of the full signed accounts and the computations - they don't need to be originals - copies will do - and they certainly don't need more than one copy of each.
  • The accounts dont actually have to be signed that goes to HMRC. If you file your returns online you can send a PDF copy but should have a signed copy available.
