I posted this on HUKD so thought i better share it with you lot as well, thought it was a great buy, especially using the discount code (10% off):
I've used this company before and they have been great, very friendly CS and normally great prices. Just had this mailshot, and compared to all these net books this sounds like a great deal, for a fully fledged laptop with a GeForce 6100 Graphics card. For this money it would make a great workhorse/student laptop. Gateway make reliable and sturdy machines, backed by their 12 months warranty.
£196.11 includes postage etc. when you use the discount voucher EWT99 at checkout.
Comes with a full years warranty (Gateway factory Refurbished)
Quick Spec: [see post below for more details]
AMD Sempron 3400+
512Mb RAM (see post below)
60Gb PATA Harddrive
14.1 inch Ultrabright Screen (1280*800)
Dual Layer DVDRW
Integrated Memory Card Reader
Vista Home Basic and Works 8.5
For the price considering the spec I think it is pretty good value, and in my opinion Semprons are pretty damn good processors, much better than their Intel opposition (Celeron). They have other laptops available as well.

This memory from play.com would be able to be used and make this into a pretty quick work/play/portable machine
http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/5748603/PNY-PC5300-2GB-667MHz-DDR2-200pin-SoDIMM-Laptop-Memory/Product.html for £15!!
Note the Go6100 is better than most onboard graphics cards however it will still struggle to play todays games.Student Moneysaving Expert :beer:0 -
Looks like a reasonable machine for under £200. I'd have it over anything I've seen under £300, should be fine for 'net, email and office stuff.
Crucial says that it'll only take 1GB per slot though, so the stuff you've linked won't do it. They do 2 x 1GB for £24.99 + delivery0 -
Wow! Great deal.....As an avid IT amateur, repairing laptops and building desktop systems I would deffo give this a second look. One word of advice though, either up the RAM to 2gb as mentioned by real1314 or dump that horrible operating system
and get XP...great deal OP....I already have 4 laptops in the house though

Windows Vista on 512MB should be illegal!! However, with memory so cheap, this is a decent laptop for the money. Although for the price, the specs are relative, spend £50 extra nowadays and you will likely get a bigger HDD, better CPU, more RAM etc...
Delivery at £12.95 is a bit of a con tbh.0
