DCA default date wrong by 2 years - advice needed!

Hi all,
Have another thread about the said bill, but have noticed that the default date is wrong by 2 years. I am going to pay the bill, but how would I go about getting the default date changed to 2004 instead of 2006? Have called the DCA but their offices are closed and need advice before they re-open on Monday!
Cheers!

If you have proof that the default date has been registered incorrectly then you should write to them requiring them to correct it under the Data Protection Act.
See page 19 onwards on the factsheet below:
http://www.ico.gov.uk/upload/documents/library/data_protection/practical_application/credit_explained_leaflet_2005.pdf
You can also dispute the entry with the credit reference agency and/or add a notice of correction on the file. But the CRA would have to query the correctness of the data with the DCA anyway, so it's normally best to contact the DCA/creditor direct to amend the info.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thanks. Would proof be bank statements showing that I cancelled the direct debit for that company? Have no other paperwork to show I have defaulted as I moved house immediately after defaulting.0
