Im not allowed to post ebay links so I wont, but I am selling one along with many others on ebay. Think I might be a distance from you anyway...

A tip would be to make sure it has a stand, or get a stand for it. Will be much better in the long run instead of trying to place it around the house in the right position.

lol ... ah ... mine has 36 black and 25 white. I know, I had to count them because someone asked me.

    Phew...
  • My humble advice - especially if your daughter intends to do grades - is to buy one with piano weighted keys. My daughter is nine and has just passed grade one but finds the transition between our electronic keyboard and the real piano now quite difficult. She has played an electronic one that "feels" like a real piano and that is fine - so guess what we will be looking for shortly. Our piano teacher is in her seventies and not really up to date with electronic pianos but if you can get advice from her teacher then I would say that is preferable to a salesman in a shop. My sister just got fleeced by a music shop buying a saxophone for her son! Happy hunting!

You might need to go for 88 keys. The question is how much do you want to spend? Do you just want a home keyboard (which won't have 88 keys) or a proper digital piano such as those made by Roland and Casio.
  • I bought one for my 8 year old son for christmas a yamaha EZ150. It is a full size 61 note keyboard. This is a proper teaching one with light up keys which can be switched off once they progress. It has over 100 songs to play along with in various lesson modes. It only cost £99 + postage and has a 2 year guarantee. I think they have gone up a few quid though, it was on offer at the time. The whole family have fun with it.

get one with weighted keys.. it will cost more but really makes a difference.. or alternatively get a free upright.. there are always upright pianos "free to a good home" and it will be much better than a keyboard.

I bought one (Yamaha) from Starland.co.uk a year ago and found the service impeccable. I phoned up a couple of local music shops first and sought their ideas about the best one to buy, of course they thought I would buy it from them. I then searched the internet for the best price.
They also have very decent ones in Makro Mail from time to time.
    Good luck!
