help! what to do!

my husband wanted some band merch for xmas that i can only get from the usa. so.... i placed the order a few days ago, borrowed my mums card as they only took visa or american express and i have something else.

it said a confirmation email would go out so stupidly i didnt write down the order number. anyway mymums card has been charged, i have not received any confirmation email and ive emailed their customer services who cannot find the transaction in their records...

they keep asking me to call them (in usa) but how much will that cost, how do i explain cost to mrH? they want me to call and give my mum's card details which i dont have to hand.

help!

  • Did you have to register with the site when you placed an order? If so, could you go back in that way and see what your order status is? If you want to phone the States, you can find some cheap phone deals elsewhere on this site (I think if you go to the homepage there are links) which would make it relatively cheap although you'll have to factor in the time difference. I'm not sure on the legal status of having a credit card debited but them not being able to find the order but am sure someone else will be able to advise. Hope you get it sorted.

look at discountdial's web site for a cheap phone code to USA, when my friend lived there it cost me 2p per min to ring her!

I would cancell the transaction, get a refund on your mum's card, and get oh something else.

    Good luck

  • thanks for the advice

there was an option to buy without setting up an account,as i was in a rush i took it. and yes i am kicking myself BIG TIME!!!

my mum has a debit card not credit card so im assuming it cant be cancelled but she is going to call alliance and leicester on monday

i already hate that stupid band he loves now i really hate them lol
  • Why don't you ask them to call you? Say that you are attempting to cancel the payment and coule they call you to give you some more information. Nothing like the threat of losing money to get a response ...
