how long do you wait

I followed the step by step approach to reclaim misold ppi from Beneficial Bank. They said no, as expected to the first letter, I wrote again they didn't even reply so I took it to the Financial Ombudsman that was almost a year ago. I am still waiting having not even had my case allocated yet. Is this normal does anyone know

    Hi Dawn

Unfortunately they have large numbers of these complaints to deal with, infact worse than ever really.
But when was the last time you heard from the FOS?

You can email or ring them now and again and if your struggling financially, let them know, they may hurry it along for you.

Mine had taken 14 months from start to finish of getting paid out.
A nudge now and again does no harm.

Good luck and hope you hear soon with good news, give them a ring though and see where they are currently with your complaint.;)

  • Hi we claimed mis sold ppi from beneficial who is actually HFC bank it only took 9 weeks.
They refused to answer so I phoned them they said they where awaiting the file I told them straight in a letter about being previously in court and I would take them to court they made a full offer plus 8% interest and paid up in 9 days.
Dont wait get out there and use your gut instinct and tell them straight.
Good luck we got £2,600 back
  • whats the hfc address?

  • Good stuff. I used to work for them and it was the worst year of my life. One of the biggest bunch of nobs out there. The amount of pressure they put on staff to sell ppi and paps was unbelievable. Terrible way to do business and on many occasions they gave customers the impression they must take ppi.

    Hi Simon
Yes I can understand it must have been difficult and awkward for the staff also being pressuried or feeling under pressure selling insurance.
    Thanks for speaking up.;)

Wonder if you could tell me.....are Beneficial Finance joined with Endeavour Personal Finance?
It may be me just getting confused, as I know EPF were or still linked with HFC maybe HSBC as well.

They do have the same addy details as well don't they?;)
