John Lewis Quick Sale thing?

I've been reading the BBC news, and have noticed that a fair few retailers are having sales for a few days to try to boost sales. It mentions John Lewis on this. So I have been to the John Lewis site and it has a box that says "We are responding to a competitiors event" Which I can only presume was M&S, but I wonder if it is still going on, and what the response is. I bought an item for my friends parents for Christmas on Weds, and if I bought the item before, and it's been and gone and I've missed it I will be gutted.
Does anyone have any details on this? If I can I will order it online and take it back, buy it again at the cheaper price :P
If you have any details plz plz let me know....I'm a poor and penniless student!!

There was another thread about it a few days ago with a link to the items reduced. it was only select items unlike debenhams & m&s.
Looks like it is still on, you can look through the catagories on sale here

Returning the item shouldn't be a problem if it is reduced.0 -
Ooh, nice. I was looking for a good watch - and here they have 20% off (obvi I'll shop around, too)0

Because John Lewis like many other department stores has lots of different brands what they do is price match the ones that you'll find in the like of Debenhams when Mega Days are on so that they might not lose out as much. Look out for the same thing happening this week with Fraser's doing their own event!!0

Thanks for your help on that one, very much appreciated.
It seems that they haven't done the sale on the product I bought, and that they are the only retailer of it....sooooo....no money saving this time - lol!!0
