The great North run date for 2009 has been changed from the 4th October to the 20th september. If you are taking part you may want to book your hotel now as, for example, the travel lodge at Washington was £99 a night for the October dates, but is £29 at the moment for the September dates.

Thank you, sundancer... you have just saved me around £300.
I had booked a nice place in South Shields (was lucky to get it), but had to opt for a minimum of 2 nights (which I didn't especially want) @ £150 a night!
PS - How come GNR haven't sent an email about this date change...???0
