missed credit card payments

Hi, just wanting soem advise really
November has been a bad month for me - My grandma has been diagnosed with bone cancer and probably won't be here for much longer, this has hit me really hard. Skipping to the point I am self employed and have been taking days off work through feeling a bit down etc - therefore not earning money. I have let my finances go a bit and have misse a couple of credit card payments.
I will have the money to clear the arrears and pay just over the mimimum payments and get them all into credit again before the end of December.
I just want to know if I should be worrying about this or if I should just put it down to experience and start afresh from next month when everything all back in credit??
Many thanks for reading

Hi Doyda,
Sorry to hear about what is happening...I had the same thing happen to me in June, so I know how you are feeling.
With regards the cards, have you contacted the companies involved? I'm sure they would be understanding in the circumstances and allow you grace to get yourself back in order. It would be better to contact them than hide away from it I think.
If you need someone to talk to I'm going to be on this forum a lot(till I clear 40k of debt) - so just post whenever you want.Total Debt at November 20th 2008(First day on M.S.E) - £40468.510 -
I think you should get it sorted as soon as possible. You usually receive a default after 3 months of non payment - is it only one month you've missed? If so then there probably isn't much to worry about and this will just be a little blip on your credit report.
I would also try reclaiming any charges you received.
Were any of these cards 0% deals? If so then you may have lost the promotional rate - i'd write to the company if this has happened explaining what has happened. Might be worth setting up a standing order for the minimum payments so that this doesn't happen again. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Sorry to hear about your nan ((hugs)).
I think if its just one month I can't see it being a huge issue although I don't know if this may have an impact on your credit rating.
Hope things get better for you soon.Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712
