Extra long curtains

Options
My Victorian house has very high ceilings so I need very long curtains in my dining room which has french doors.

The longest I can find ready made curtains is 90 inches which is too short, my drop is 96 inches. The width is not an issue as they are long but fairly narrow. Moving the pole down can't be done. I would like them to have eyelet tops as I have now.

I could have them made to measure but when I looked at Dunelm and Next they were sooo expensive for just 6 inches of extra drop and didn't even have any fabric that I liked.

So, is there anywhere that sells longer curtains at reasonable prices?

Thanks!

I have the same problem. However, I've just bought some 108 inch drop curtains from here which are lovely. They weren't that cheap, but there are codes floating about for them, & they are also on quidco.

As for fabrics, there isn't an awful lot of choice in eyelet & longer length (I've spent 4 months looking for curtains.... ;) ) but we bought the jazz pattern & they are lovely. I got free samples from another company...can't remember which offhand...google the designs you like!
  • Ikea curtains are very long and usually come with the hems unfinished for you to alter to fit yourself.

    I love Ikea's curtains, they're just gorgeous :)

but if you're not close to one, here's another on-line source ... there are a few with 108 drop in the Additions catalogue, not a lot of style choice, but there are quite a few colours to choose from, there's also a code around for £30 off a spend of over £60 if you're a first time buyer
  • The Ikea curtains used to (and may still) come with wonder web so that you can hem to required length.

Have also seen longer curtains in B&Q.

Yes - Ikea is the answer now for my Edwardian townhouse... not quite "thick, heavy velvet" but they look fantastic and are plenty long enough :)

  • Wow, thanks everyone! Do Ikea do lined curtains? I didn't see much in the catalogue or online, I guess it would be better to go and have a look, I need to go soon anyway :)

Thanks Sooz, had a quick look at the website and already seen a pair I like, not bad at £69.99 plus 7% Quidco, they are heading tape rather than eyelets but if I don't see anything then I think I might get them, actually, they are really nice!

    Thanks!!

  • Join the Ikea Family, you can sign up online or instore and you'll be sent the current offers and the most recent mailing includes a £10 off a £60 spend.

Not sure if they do lined curtains as what I did was buy blinds and the curtains are just for show as my window is very wide as well as long. The blinds are good and long too :)
  • Thanks Edinburghlass, I already have, got the voucher in my purse!
