Gym membership and new t&c's

Hi guys,
I am trying to cancel my gym membership with David Lloyd, having statred a new job in a gym were I get free membership! I have searched the forum for advice on the matter, but haven't found anything regarding the case!
I joined a Next Generation club in Jan '07, knowing that there was a 3 month notice period, but since then Next Gen have merged with DLl and now the club is a DLl club. I got sent through a copy of DLl's t&c's, whihc state that I only need to give 1 months notice, as I am still in my initial period (12 months). I handed in a letter today to the membership team, but was told that it is still a 3 month notice period. When I questioned it further ie surely the new t&cs apply, as the club is now a DLl, a manager told me that it only applies to new members.
I have read through the new t&c's and there is a sentence on the first page quoting
'these terms and conditions apply at all times and take priority over anything a David Lloyd Leisure team member has told you'
To me, this means that the t&c's which are now in force are the new ones and that I can give one months notice, is this true? and are they trying to pull the woll ovr my eyes and get me to pay for 2 more months of membership?
