  • Are they opening the stores special then? Most 24hour stores don't open until 8am on a Monday morning, so this would mean them opening 8 hours early to sell the DVD? Is this confirmed before I call in after my shift work to buy a copy?

24/7 in Scotland is 24/7 so not a special opening. My local Tesco told me they usually have to wait until 6.00 am to sell unless with special permission and hadn't heard as yet (Wednesday) if they would be selling at midnight or 6.00 am.

We will get the usual 10% off though won't we? I'm not even sure if I'll get anything off at all because we were burgled at home and my purse was one of the things stolen. A new discount card is on order but they supposidly come from America.
As far as I know yes we still get our normal discount. Can your store not sort you out with something temporary for the special discount day? It's not like it's your fault you haven't got your card. What a pain for you!

Fab, my friend absolutely loves this film, went to the cinema 5xs to see it (she did, not I did, I'm not that mad lol). Might just have to go in her girly night in hamper.
If she's that mad about it, she'll probably buy it herself on release day, she won't wait till Christmas.
    .....

  • I have just read on another site that Asda are having a 25% off day on Tuesday (information came from a staff member, and doesn't include food or electricals)
I shall buy it then I think!

Yes I can get a 'letter', but I don't know if it'll give me 20% for Tuesday or 10% like the newer colleagues. If it's just 10% it's not worth bothering (unless I can ask my friend (colleague too) but I know that's against the rules! ;) ) There's not much I want/need apart from a new camera to replace the one the burgulars took.

Sorry to all who came here for Mamma Mia info. :o

They wouldn't have a 25% off day on the same day as 'staff double discount day'. I'd be amazed if they did!

I just tried to cancel mine not long after ordering. Hope I get a confirmation before release date. Don't want to end up with 2.

    Crikey can you imagine!?

I've been roped in for the entire day as a second person on M&V to help cope with the usual customers; as well as colleagues after their 20% on DVDs, CDs and Games. If there were at least double the usual customers due to something like 25% I think I'd have the day off! hehe

As for the Mamma Mia situ - I'm informed we've had just over 1000 copies in and we're an average sized store so i'd say there'll be plenty of stock, UNLESS its like the Casino Royale release where we cleared our 700 units in the first day!
