  • this might sound really stupid but, i got mine at asda and came home to watch it and cant get the box open, had a red tab on the side of it. any ideas anyone?

Suppose to be the the security tag, need to be remove at the till. Did u set the alarm off at the exit ??
  • I bought mine in Asda via a self service till at 7.00 am and asked the CS person to deactivate the security tag, not realising it was the red tag going into the box. He told me it should have beeped on the till to notify him but it didn't so not sure it would have set the door alarm off had I not asked for it to be removed.

You'll need to take it back with your receipt to get the tag thing taken out, it seemed to go quite far into the dvd box.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
The two things I'm after for Xmas presents are...Mamma Mia and Professor Layton for DS. I can't find either anywhere (for a reasonable uninflated price)..that will teach me to shop earlier. Doesn't it make you corss that companies can double the price of something just like that?!

Is it really the security tag ? Mine was in cellophane and the tag was under it and there is also space on the cardboard cover for it, so I think it was already there.

I can't get it open either, just want to check it's ok as it's for a present, if it was mine, I would have taken a hammer to it by now !

  • no it didnt beep. mine was under cellophane too so i didnt think about a security tag. wanted to get out the shop promptly as was made to give ID at the till as was so embarassed!
  • Yes it is the tag and they need to use a machine to take it out. The self service CS had a struggle to take it out. You'll see if you look closely that the cellophane doesn't actually cover the red tag bit or at least once its removed the cellophane come neatly off and it makes it easy to remove the cellophane from the cover.

There are lots of them on ebay.
I've just bought one there for £10.99 - brand new in sealed box with free postage on Buy it Now.

You could even get one for less than this if you enter an auction.:T
    Born to shop;)
