Options
Hiya

Am arranging a xmas dinner/birthday dinner for a friend. Left it a bit late I no! but wondered where everyone else was going with their work xmas do and does anybody have any recommendations? Should be around 7 of us girlies goin

Got a price from cafe vaudeville for £40 per head. Anyone had a meal in here? We would sometimes go for a drink in here although its expensive than other places.

TIA

Our work's Christmas do is going to be in January, so we're all arranging an after pub drink session to be the Continuity Christmas party :) We had our meal in Oxford Exchange last year and the food was very good. The bar area is very small, and there's no real party atmosphere, but we went on a pub crawl afterwards and managed ok.

Try and grab a couple of those wee "What's On" mags you see at the train station. They have restaurant listings in them for inspiration.

    Good luck with your booking.

  • ours in in the europa this year £20ph for lunch - pricey drink though
sporanzas do a lovely dinner are sometimes quite booked up though
avoid jurys - very expensive and terrible food not to mention the entertainment.

  • Going to Robinsons for £25 a head. Went there two years ago and as Christmas dinners go the food was OK (especially compared to the Holiday Inn in Ormeau Avenue which was appalling two years in a row - we only went back because someone got a good deal because they knew one of the staff).

Cafe Vaudeville food is good but if you're going in the evening around Christmas (particularly on a Thusday or Friday) be prepared to experience just what it's like to be a sardine. The place is packed so full that you wouldn't want to be thirsty or need the loo ... it'll take you half an hour just to get there!! We'd had enough after one drink and ventured up to the Cathedral Quarter instead.
